Privacy policy

This policy explains what information AustralianSpins may collect through this website, why it is used and the choices available to you.

Privacy policy

AustralianSpins is responsible for personal information collected directly through this site and its editorial contact channels. We aim to handle that information in a clear, proportionate way and to collect only what is reasonably needed to operate, understand and improve the website.

This policy does not govern a casino, payment provider, regulator or other external website reached through a link. Those organisations decide independently what they collect and how they use it. Review their privacy terms before opening an account or sending identity and payment information.

For a privacy question or request, email hello@australianspins.com with Privacy request in the subject line.

Information we may collect

The information depends on how you use the site.

Information you provide

If you email us, request a correction, submit a casino complaint, make a privacy request or discuss a partnership, we may receive your name, email address, organisation, message and any files or evidence you choose to provide.

If the newsletter is active and you subscribe, we collect the email address and consent associated with the subscription. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, full card numbers, crypto seed phrases or unredacted identity documents. We do not need casino login credentials to consider an editorial correction or explain a dispute route.

If unsolicited sensitive or excessive information is received, we may delete, redact or avoid retaining it where it is not reasonably needed.

Technical and usage information

When analytics is enabled, the site and its service providers may process information such as:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it;
  • browser, device type, operating system and screen size;
  • pages viewed, visit time, referrer and navigation path;
  • clicks, scrolls and interaction with page elements;
  • errors and performance information; and
  • an affiliate-link event, including the page, placement, casino identifier and ranking position.

The site is configured to support Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. Either service operates only when its deployment identifier is enabled. These tools may use cookies or similar identifiers to distinguish visits and understand aggregated behaviour. Their processing is also governed by the provider’s terms and privacy documentation.

We do not receive a casino password, account balance, deposit record or complete payment details merely because you click an affiliate link. The destination operator may collect its own information after you leave AustralianSpins.

Why we use information

We may use information to:

  • answer a message or privacy request;
  • investigate and correct a reported factual error;
  • understand a casino complaint and identify an appropriate escalation route;
  • send a requested newsletter and manage unsubscribe choices;
  • maintain security, diagnose faults and prevent misuse;
  • measure which pages and navigation features are useful;
  • measure outbound affiliate referrals and operate commercial relationships;
  • keep an editorial record supporting a published fact or correction; and
  • comply with legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell a contact list or disclose a reader’s complaint to an operator for unrelated marketing. If resolving a complaint would require sharing identifiable details with a casino or another body, we will seek an appropriate basis and explain what is needed before doing so.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files or identifiers stored or read by a browser. Some support basic website operation; analytics cookies help distinguish visits and understand how the site is used. External services may also use local storage, scripts or comparable technologies.

You can block or delete cookies through browser settings and use privacy or tracking controls offered by your device. Blocking analytics should not prevent access to the editorial text, although preferences or some interactive behaviour may work differently.

Following a /go/ link can generate an affiliate-click analytics event and redirect you to a third-party casino URL. The casino or affiliate network may then set its own identifier to attribute a qualifying action. AustralianSpins does not control the destination site’s cookies.

Newsletter choices

A newsletter subscription is voluntary. Where the service is active, the email address is used to send the updates described at sign-up and to maintain the subscription record. Every marketing email should provide an unsubscribe route.

You can withdraw consent at any time by using that route or emailing us. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing invalid. We may retain a minimal suppression record so an unsubscribed address is not accidentally re-added.

The footer form may be displayed before a mailing integration is activated. Submitting a form that has no connected processor does not create a subscription; activation should be accompanied by an appropriate collection notice and provider configuration.

Analytics and affiliate measurement

Analytics helps us find broken pages, understand whether navigation works and compare interest in guides without treating a single visitor as a casino customer. Reports are used in aggregate wherever practical.

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are third-party services and may process data on infrastructure outside Australia. Their available controls, retention settings and international arrangements are determined partly by their own policies and the way AustralianSpins configures the service.

Affiliate measurement is used to understand whether a reader followed a tracked link and whether a qualifying action was attributed by the external partner. The level of data returned to AustralianSpins depends on the partner. We do not ask an affiliate report to include sensitive account documents or complete financial credentials.

When information may be shared

We may disclose limited information to service providers that support hosting, email, analytics, security, data storage or affiliate tracking. They should receive only the information needed to perform the relevant function and are subject to their own legal and contractual obligations.

Information may also be disclosed:

  • with your direction or consent;
  • where reasonably necessary to investigate a correction or complaint you asked us to pursue;
  • to professional advisers under appropriate confidentiality;
  • where required or authorised by law, court process or a regulator; or
  • where necessary to protect rights, safety or the security of the site.

Because online providers may operate internationally, personal information can be processed outside Australia. The exact countries can depend on the service provider’s infrastructure and may change. Contact us if you need current information about a particular processing arrangement.

Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures appropriate to the information held. No website, email service or storage platform can guarantee absolute security, so send only what is needed and redact account or identity evidence before contacting us.

Information is retained only while it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain an editorial or unsubscribe record, resolve a dispute, meet legal obligations or protect legitimate interests. Different records have different useful lives; a general enquiry may be deleted earlier than evidence supporting a published correction.

When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to backups, legal obligations and records that must be retained.

Access, correction and deletion requests

You may ask what personal information AustralianSpins holds about you, request access or correction, or ask for deletion where applicable. You may also object to or withdraw consent from processing based on your consent.

Email hello@australianspins.com and describe the record or interaction involved. We may need to verify that the request relates to you before disclosing or changing personal information, but we will not ask for more proof than is proportionate to the risk.

Some requests may be limited where retention is required by law, a record is needed to establish or defend a claim, deletion would affect another person’s rights, or an applicable exception permits continued handling. If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain the reason where we are able to do so.

Privacy complaints

If you believe information has been mishandled, email us with the relevant dates, page or interaction and the outcome you seek. We will review the complaint and may ask for enough detail to locate the record.

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner explains the Australian Privacy Principles and complaint options. Whether the Privacy Act applies to a particular organisation depends on its circumstances; this policy is intended to describe AustralianSpins’ actual handling practices whether or not every provision applies in a specific case.

AustralianSpins is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children and the site should not be used by anyone under 18 to access gambling services.

If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us so the record can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when site features, providers or information-handling practices materially change. The date at the top shows the latest published review. A new version applies from publication; significant changes may also be highlighted elsewhere on the site where practical.
